LEGALISATION
Many countries wish to be sure that I am properly authorised to act as a notary. This is done by a procedure called Legalisation (Apostille). For most countries this means applying to the Legalisation Office of the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office in Westminster or Milton Keynes for an Apostille under The Hague Convention.
Some countries further require notarised documents to be legalised by their Embassies, a process known as Consular Legalisation.
I can arrange legalisation for you if required for an administration fee. The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office also charge a fee of £30.00 per document if we use the postal apostille service at Milton Keynes or £75.00 if we use the premium, and quickest, service in Westminster
The fees charged by the Embassies or consulates vary widely and often depends on the nature of the document (that is, personal or commercial). I can usually tell you what the fees are likely to be and further advise of each country’s specific requirements.
